JSC “BIOLAT” was established in 1993, and since then its aim has been applycation of long-term research results about forest biomass to gain profit by producing high-quality and environment-friendly bio-active products from ecologically clean forest resources, mainly the green mass (spruce and  pine needles). The Company’s philosophy matches the modern tendency to replace synthetic products with high-quality bio-active natural products derived from renewable plant materials by applying environment-friendly lean technologies.

“Biolat” develops, examines, produces and commercializes a new generation of natural active ingredients with health benefits aimed at the nutraceutical markets.

It is known that plants contain all the substances necessary for human health and life. The genetically oldest tree species, that are represented by conifers, like pine, spruce, fir, and juniper, in the Baltic climate zone are the richest in compounds necessary for humans. Another example of such old species is the well-known ginkgo.

Needles of evergreen trees are considered a cheap and ecologically clean source of high-quality raw materials used in sectors such as medicine, cosmetology, livestock breeding and plant protection.
